This painting introduces my first step onto larger canvases. It is the largest painting I have offered for sale to date, and it is spectacular. The style is more expressionistic/abstract, while still representing the logo we've all come to know and love. I was inspired by the rainbow logo of yesteryear since it provides a splash of excitement on the white, textured background that reveals hints of the abstract color patterns beneath.
This painting was created mainly by using a palette knife technique instead of brushes. Painting this was exactly what I needed, artistically. I've been working on large, meticulously detailed paintings for an exhibit, so this new piece helped me to loosen up a bit. The feeling one gets looking at this is one of joy, delight and pleasure, with a healthy dose of insanity and danger mixed in. Everything that Apple can be when she is at her best.
I like to contemplate on the details of this painting, the gorgeous swipes of colour that were created in the quick palette strokes. There's faces, snakey patterns, riverlettes, fish, sunsets on another planet... it's an endless source of entertainment. This painting actually began as an experiment in paint under low density polyethylene (Saran Wrap), and some remnants of texture from that technique remain on the surface of the paint. It's as if the painting was shrink-wrap at some point in its creation, and I really like that, especially because the subject is a corporate logo.
I like to imagine that the painting depicts the love child of an Apple logo and a PacMan creature. It consumes in a fury, the elements of inspiration and creation around itself. That, I think, is an accurate representation of our corporate culture, and expresses the duality, both benevolent and malignant, of our fascination and dependence on the technological.
The painting is stretched canvas on a wooden frame. You can frame it if you wish, or display it as is by just hanging it on a cherished spot on your wall. The back of the painting contains the title, the date painted, Nitrozac's signature, and a fingerprint for authenticity.
Best of luck to all bidders, I know you will adore this painting as much as I do. Every time I look at it, I discover something new. Shipping for the painting is extra... to the US and Canada via expedited it is 55 dollars, to other locations, 65 dollars. If the buyer is located in Canada, I will have to charge the appropriate HST Canadian taxes.
So there you have it, the largest painting I've offered so far, one with a commanding presence, that's sure to inspire and impress!

Yellow Bird is on of the Angry Bird characters. "Angry Birds", the game by Rovio Mobile, burst on the scene in early 2009. It now has millions of addicted devotees all around the world.
Angry Birds has very quickly become a part of our technological consciousness and has etched it's place in the history of things gone viral. It's the Space Invaders of the 21st century, and so I thought to myself, hmmm... these angry little birds deserve to be immortalized on canvas for future generations to gaze upon and contemplate. Why are these birds so angry? How are they flying with no visible wings? (I guess that's why they need the slingshot!)
So behold! I've captured the Yellow bird's angry little face in paint, for eternity, much like van Gogh's Yellow House. :P He's a symbol of strength, determination, and sacrifice, for he will fight for his bird family even if it means the feathers will fly and he is flung into a slab of wood, glass, or stone. He will even accelerate to near warp speed when tapped in flight. (Note: do not try this with the painting.)
From the Angry Bird Wiki:
Yellow Birds (also known as Speedy Birds and Dasher Birds) are a type of Bird introduced near the end of World 1 inTheme 1-16. The birds are yellow colored (hence their name) and are triangular in shape. Their ability allows them to dash into pigs and structures, making them able to inflict more damage on buildings than the Red Bird. Much like many of the other birds, it's strength usually varies depending on what block is struck and what angle it is struck, but in most cases, it can go through several thin wood blocks. Don't let it crash on either stone or glass block or it will stop immediately.
"Yellow Bird" stands as an inspiration to do your best against all naysayers and bullies and emerge triumphant! Don't let the pigs of this world get away with stealing what's rightfully yours. Go out and sock it 'em with all you got! Fly into that great blue yonder, and control your own destiny! Everytime the future owner of this painting looks at "Yellow Bird" it's my hope that it lifts their spirits and brings a smile across their face and inspires them to release their inner "Yellow Bird". RAMSPEED!

Details: "Yellow Bird" original painting, on 8 x 10 inch stretched canvas, with a wooden frame. The painting is about a half inch thick, with painted sides, so you can frame it if you wish, or display it as is. The back of the painting contains the title, the date painted, Nitrozac's signature, and a fingerprint for authenticity.
If the painting isn't sold at auction, it will be up for sale in our webstore at a higher than originally listed price, so it does pay to bid on the auction!
Best of luck to all bidders, and to the winner, I know you will adore this painting as much as I do.

Red Bird, a painting by Nitrozac *SOLD!*
"Angry Birds", the game by Rovio Mobile, burst on the scene in early 2009. It now has millions of addicted devotees all around the world.
Most of the planet Earth knows how this game works, but in case you've been on the far side of the Moon for a while, it goes like this; evil pigs have stolen the birds eggs for food. This has made the birds very angry. How the birds get their revenge is by sling-shotting into the pig's poorly constructed shelters where they are hiding, with the hope of destroying the shelter and the pigs themselves. When the pigs are destroyed you move onto another level, with more elaborate pig shelters and different birds. I love playing this game, the birds are very cute, they make cute sounds, and they really seem to like being hurled at the pigs. However, I'm starting to hate those pigs, especially when you've used up all your birds, and there's still a pig sitting there safe and he's making a "heh heh" sound. ARRRRG!
Angry Birds has very quickly become a part of our technological consciousness and has etched it's place in the history of things gone viral. It's the Space Invaders of the 21st century, and so I thought to myself, hmmm... this angry little red bird deserves to be immortalized on canvas for future generations to gaze upon and contemplate. Why is this bird so angry? How is he flying with no visible wings? (I guess that's why they need the slingshot!)
